What a Collision Does to Alignment
A hard impact does not only damage the panels you can see. The force transfers through the chassis, and the geometry that holds the wheels, axles, and frame in position can shift with it. After a collision, a commercial vehicle that tracked straight the day before may pull to one side. The tires can begin wearing on the wrong edges. The handling feels different to the driver in ways that are hard to describe and easy to notice.
Aguirrie Paint & Body has been correcting post-collision alignment on commercial and oversized vehicles in Buda, TX since 1978. Our facility sits on the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio, and it is set up for heavy-duty, medium-duty, and oversized units: 28 oversized bays and computerized laser alignment equipment calibrated for the load capacity and frame geometry of larger vehicles.
Every correction we perform is measured against the manufacturer’s specifications and documented before the vehicle returns to service at pre-accident condition.
Post-Collision Alignment Services
After a collision, axle position is one of the first things to shift. A drive axle that has moved a fraction of a degree from where the manufacturer placed it will pull the unit and put stress on the suspension components that came through the impact intact. We perform front and rear axle corrections on heavy-duty, medium-duty, and multi-passenger vehicles as part of the collision repair, bringing each axle back to the manufacturer’s specifications. The correction is verified and documented before the vehicle returns to service at pre-accident condition.
When We Perform an Alignment
An alignment is not automatic on every collision repair. We perform a computerized laser alignment after a heavier collision that may have affected the frame or alignment, when there are clear signs the vehicle is no longer tracking correctly, such as tires wearing tread quickly or unevenly, or upon customer request.
If the impact was light and the geometry is sitting where the manufacturer placed it, we tell you that. The readings are documented either way, and you are welcome to see them.
Our Computerized Laser Alignment Equipment
Our computerized laser alignment system was selected for the class of vehicle we work on. It measures front and rear axle position to the precision the manufacturer’s specifications call for on commercial and oversized units, and it accounts for the load capacity and frame geometry that come with a long wheelbase and a heavy axle weight.
After a collision, the readings show our highly trained technicians where the geometry has shifted and what the correction involves. The before-and-after measurements are documented as part of the repair file.
Working With Your Insurance
Most fleet operators have dealt with adjusters before. A visual estimate often misses the structural damage on a commercial unit, and the supplemental requests that follow can extend the repair timeline.
We tear the unit down before we estimate, document everything we find with photos, and send the carrier a complete picture of the damage from the start. We call this our blue print process. The point is to give the carrier the actual scope of the repair on day one, including the energy transfer through the chassis and the “unseen” damage that a visual walkthrough does not catch. That documentation supports the carrier’s coverage of a complete repair to pre-accident condition.
For fleet managers, that translates to a clearer picture of what the repair involves from the beginning, and fewer surprises as the work moves forward.
Alignment, Frame, and Suspension as One Collision Repair
After a collision, the symptoms show up at the tires, but the cause can be sitting upstream in a frame that took the impact or a suspension component that shifted as the energy moved through the chassis. A truck that pulls to one side after a collision may have frame damage underneath it. A motorhome wearing the inside edge of every tire after an impact may have a suspension mount that moved.
That is why the sequence matters. Our facility performs frame correction, suspension repair, and alignment under one roof, as part of one collision repair, in that order. Bee Line brand frame and alignment equipment handles the structural side. The computerized laser system handles the geometry. The vehicle leaves at pre-accident condition.
Working With Your Insurance Carrier: The Blue Print Process
A standard visual estimate is often an incomplete picture of collision damage, and the structural compromises that affect alignment are among the easiest to miss. The adjuster sees the panel damage and writes up the body work.
We utilize a “blue print” process for every collision repair, alignment included. This is a systematic technical teardown and inspection of the vehicle’s frame and internal components that goes beyond an exterior walkthrough. Our highly trained technicians identify how the energy from the impact transferred through the chassis, document every point of damage with photographs, and provide the complete findings to the insurance carrier before the repair begins. The alignment correction is part of that documentation from the start.
The process provides your carrier with the documentation needed to cover a complete repair to pre-accident condition. For fleet operators, RV owners, and specialty vehicle operators, that means a clearer picture of the scope from day one.

The Vehicles We Work On
Our commercial alignment work is performed as part of collision repair on oversized and large-scale vehicles. The scope includes:
The Technicians Performing the Work
Post-collision alignment on heavy-duty and oversized vehicles is precision work. The technicians at Aguirrie Paint & Body are highly trained, and many members of our staff have over 30 years of individual experience in collision repair. They have worked through four decades of changes in chassis design, materials, and electronics, and they maintain ongoing training on the techniques each new generation of vehicle requires after an impact. They are cherished members of this business, and the depth of their experience is part of what allows us to take on this work.
A Legacy of Safety and Responsibility
Since 1993, Aguirrie Paint & Body has voluntarily participated in the OSHA Consultants program. This program brings an OSHA consultant on-site to evaluate workplace and environmental practices throughout our facility, including electrical safety, equipment upkeep, the handling of hazardous materials, and the conditions our technicians work in. A facility that is well-kept and well-equipped is one that produces consistent, high-quality collision repair, and our participation in this program is one of the ways we hold ourselves to that standard. We have been awarded the highest rankings for our commitment to safety and health standards.
Beyond our staff’s safety, we prioritize the environment. Every hazardous material used in our refinishing process is recycled to keep our facility’s impact on the Central Texas environment as small as possible.

Stop By or Give Us a Call
If you are operating a commercial vehicle, fleet, RV, or specialty unit that has been in a collision and the alignment is not where it should be, call us or stop by. We will look at the vehicle, take the alignment readings, and give you a straight answer on what the correction involves to bring it back to pre-accident condition as part of the collision repair.
