What Houston Operators Bring to Our Facility

Houston-area operators bring us the units that call for a specific setup. A Class A motorhome that needs section refinishing at full length. A vocational truck with frame damage that calls for heavy-duty frame correction. A fire apparatus on a Spartan foundation that needs certified warranty repair. An older fleet unit with a suspension U-bolt configuration that is no longer produced.

Our facility is at 17200 S. IH 35, Buda, TX 78610, on the I-35 corridor. It has been set up for oversized and specialty collision work since 1978, and Houston-region operators have been making the trip for years. This page covers what is here and what to sort out before you put a unit on the road.

Heavy-Duty Collision Repair Built for Fleets

The Houston Commercial Vehicle Market

The Houston region runs a heavy commercial vehicle market. The Port of Houston moves freight in volume. The petrochemical and energy corridors along the Gulf Coast operate specialized heavy-duty units. Distribution centers along the Katy Freeway and out toward Cypress run delivery fleets at scale.

The frames on these units are heavy, and the body configurations are often specialized. Port work, refinery yards, and long-distance freight all produce collision damage on units that take specific equipment to repair.

Our setup in Buda was built for the heavy end of that market. We have 28 oversized bays, Bee Line brand frame and alignment equipment designed for the weight and torque of larger vehicles, and the on-site capability to fabricate discontinued parts for older equipment and specialized vehicles that are no longer supported by manufacturers. Frame correction brings the chassis back to manufacturer specifications and returns the unit to pre-accident condition.

The Technicians and the Family Behind the Facility

The work at our facility comes out of highly trained technicians who have been here for decades. Many members of our staff have over 30 years of individual experience in collision repair. They have worked on commercial fleets, motorhomes, fire apparatus, and specialty units across four decades of changes in how vehicles are built and what they are made of. They are cherished members of this business, and that experience is why a fire apparatus and a 5th wheel can go through the same facility without the quality changing.

Aguirrie Paint & Body has been family-owned since 1978. Anthony founded the facility, and his son runs it now as a second-generation operation serving the next generation of customers. For an operator sending a unit several hours from home, that matters in a specific way: the person who owns the business is the person who answers for the repair, and the technicians who handled the last unit are the ones handling the next.

Planning the Trip From Houston

Houston is the longest haul of the major Texas markets we serve, so the phone call comes before the drive. A few things are worth sorting out first:

  • Tell us the unit and what happened. Year, make, chassis, and a description of the damage tells us what the repair is likely to involve before the unit leaves your yard.

  • Send photographs before you dispatch the unit. On a haul this length, photographs let us flag anything that changes the scope while the vehicle is still in your yard rather than after it arrives in ours.

  • Loop in your carrier before departure. Tell the adjuster where the unit is going and that a teardown and inspection will be documented on arrival. That gets the claim pointed at the full scope from the start instead of a Houston-side visual estimate.

  • For RV and motorhome owners: review the drop-off checklist on our RV page before you leave, particularly if you have been living in the unit.

When the unit arrives, we look at it, tell you what we found, and walk you through what the repair involves.

RVs and Motorhomes in the Gulf Coast Region

The Gulf Coast has a strong RV culture. Houston-area owners run Class A motorhomes, 5th Wheel RVs, and bumper pull trailers down to the coast, west toward the Hill Country, and across the country, and bring them home to the region between trips.

A 45-foot motorhome takes clearance. Our 82-foot downdraft bake oven spray booth, one of the largest in Central Texas, provides the length and clearance for a Class A motorhome to be section refinished in one piece, in a controlled, high-heat environment. All section refinishing is performed using the Sherwin Williams system for precision color matching and a durable finish to pre-accident condition. We refinish only the areas affected by the collision. After the collision repair is complete, we perform a technical inspection of the repaired areas to verify the work meets the vehicle’s original manufacturer specifications.

For full-time residents who live in their motorhomes, the family-owned setup is the other half of it. The owners are present and the work is personal. If your home took collision damage and you want to sit down and go through the repair in detail before anything begins, we will take the time.

Spartan-Foundation Specialty Vehicles

Houston runs a substantial fire and EMS operation. Fire trucks responding across the region. Ambulances operating across the medical district and community hospitals throughout the metro. Specialty builds serving the petrochemical corridor, the port, and the regional industrial centers.

Many of those units are built on Spartan foundations, and when one takes collision damage the warranty and the certification of the repair both come into it. As a Spartan Certified Warranty Repair Facility, we are authorized to perform chassis and collision warranty work on any vehicle built on a Spartan foundation. The certification covers chassis and collision specifically, not general service, which means a Spartan-foundation unit from Houston that comes here for collision repair keeps its warranty intact and the repair is performed to the standards Spartan has authorized us to maintain.

For Houston fire chiefs, EMS administrators, and specialty fleet managers, the certification is what determines whether a warranty repair can be performed here.

The Blue Print Process on a Long-Distance Repair

A standard visual estimate is often an incomplete picture of collision damage. The adjuster writes up the panel damage, and the structural damage surfaces later, once the repair is underway. For an operator who brought a unit in from the Gulf Coast, having the full scope documented at the start matters more, not less.

We use a blue print process for every collision repair. This is a systematic technical teardown and inspection of the vehicle’s frame and internal components, performed before the repair begins. Our highly trained technicians identify how the energy from the impact transferred through the chassis, document every point of damage with photographs, and provide your carrier with the documentation needed to cover a complete repair to pre-accident condition. The scope goes to the carrier at the start rather than after the operator has driven home.

EXPERIENCED ACROSS TEXAS

A Central Texas Collision Facility for Houston-Based Operators

Our facility is located at 17200 S. IH 35, Buda, TX 78610, directly on the I-35 corridor south of Austin. Houston-region fleet operators, RV owners, and specialty fleet managers bring post-collision work here for the 82-foot booth, the Bee Line frame and alignment equipment, the on-site fabrication capability, and the Spartan Certified Warranty Repair status.

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

A Legacy of Safety and Responsibility

Since 1993, Aguirrie Paint & Body has voluntarily participated in the OSHA Consultants program. This program brings an OSHA consultant on-site to evaluate workplace and environmental practices throughout our facility, including electrical safety, equipment upkeep, the handling of hazardous materials, and the conditions our technicians work in. A facility that is well-kept and well-equipped is one that produces consistent, high-quality collision repair, and our participation in this program is one of the ways we hold ourselves to that standard. We have been awarded the highest rankings for our commitment to safety and health standards.

Beyond our staff’s safety, we prioritize the environment. Every hazardous material used in our refinishing process is recycled to keep our facility’s impact on the Central Texas environment as small as possible.

Aguirrie is great. Dropped my Ford F 550 off to get some major damage fixed and had the truck back in 4 business days. Very impressed and will be using them again for my other vehicles that get body damage.

Did not get paint or body work done here. My friend and I had a flat tire and Phillip was so kind and called a tire shop out to come and help us and made the whole process so much less stressful. Phillips a real one and if we ever get a truck and need paint and body work we know where to go
